    • Abstract:
      The article reports that though rate of infant deaths has improved in the U.S., it still ranks worse than about 30 other nations including Cuba and Hungary. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the top four causes are low birthweight, congenital malformation, sudden infant death syndrome and maternal complications, and can be linked to systemic inequality and lack of access to affordable care. However, programs at various levels are working to combat the causes.
