Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan services are offered to Parker University faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students.

The Parker University Library and Resource Center has international borrowing and computer research capabilities and is a member of several specialized organizations. These organizations include: AMIGOS, a five-state, on-line, computer network group that is part of the Bibliographic Council; and OCLC, a nationwide network. Parker Library is also a member of Healthline.  Healthine is a consortium of medical librarians and libraries in North Central Texas, which provides membership throughout the metroplex. This organization provides education opportunities, professional networking, and Interlibrary Loan services. Library staff have memberships in the American Library Association and Texas Library Association. In total, the Parker Library has access to and borrowing capabilities from over 7,000 other libraries including chiropractic colleges. 

The Library may also borrow from the Interlibrary Loan Program, which includes the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas and Irving Public Libraries, the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center, and has computer access to 500 medical, scientific, and research databases for university use. Parker University Library is also a member of TexShare. TexShare is a cooperative program that allows the sharing of library resources with other academic and public libraries in Texas. All students and employees may apply for a TexShare card through a staff member at the new library (located in the South Building).

TexShare

The Parker Library is a member of TexShare. All students and employees may apply for a TexShare card that gives access to all participating Texas public and academic libraries, including University of NorthTexas Health Science Center, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and the Dallas and Irving Public Libraries.

Apply for a TexShare Card at the Parker Library (located in the South Building).
